Weekly Youth Activities

CFYouth is meeting in person in the Gathering Place on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 pm. Students who will be entering 6th through 12th grade this school year are welcome to join us. If we don't already have one from you, we will need a signed permission slip before you attend.

CFYouth will have Sunday School after services {10:45 am) in the Youth Lounge

Honduras Mission Trip Fundraiser - February 1st

(Following our Business Meeting)

We have 8 members of our Youth Group planning to go to Honduras in July to work alongside the Almendarez Family. We will be having a fundraiser lunch to support this trip on Sunday, February 1st, following our Semi-Annual Congregational Business Meeting. Depending on the length of the meeting, the lunch will start around 11:30 AM. The youth attending the trip will be serving tacos, nachos, rice and beans. Tickets are $15 a plate and will be available for purchase in the church lobby before and after church beginning Sunday, January 18th.

Following the lunch, we will have a dessert auction (desserts only) and all proceeds will go toward offsetting the cost of this trip.

Please come and join us, meet the team that will be going, and be ready for a time of good food, good fellowship, and good fundraising!

Winter Nationals (February 27th - March 1st)

The CFYouth group will be going to Winter Nationals, a three day youth event focusing on fellowship and discipleship in February. They are starting the registration process now. If you would like to sponsor a student for this, it costs $60 for a student to be able to go. Please mark your donation 'Winter Nationals'. See Pastor Mike or Adam Copper for more information.

Help Needed:

If you would like to help out once a month at Youth Group, please let Pastor Mike know! Right now we are looking for people that could help out by just being present and engaging with our students. We aren't looking for anyone to lead or teach, just be an encouraging presence for the students.

We are so grateful for those who have stepped up to offer to help with Youth Group after Pastor Dave's departure. Special thanks to Adam and Laura Copper, Tino Leone, Jalea Moffett, Jason Krauth, Steve Skelton, Randy and Sarah Comstock, Steve Quakenbush and Hayes Glen.

King Soopers/City Market Fundraiser Update:

Nepal 2022

Dear CFF Family,

We really enjoyed being able to shareabout our mission trip to Nepal! Thank you so much for all your support! And, here is everyone's lesson learned/ favorite part:

Danica: I learned quite a lot on the mission trip, but something that really stuck out to me was learning that all Christians are connected by the love of Jesus. Feeling connected to someone who you have never met before through Jesus was such a crazy, but amazing thing. My favorite part was definitely getting to spend time with the kids and see Jesus shine through them.

Rachel: Learned- I learned that God's people have a special connection with each other, even through a language barrier. Favorite Part- Doing things with the kids was amazing and so fun.

Grace: Learned- God helped me through whatever I needed each day. Favorite Part- Hanging out and making friends with the kids. I still talk to some of them on Instagram.

Joel: What I learned was that even though the living conditions were not fun, they lived with a certain joy that you can't find in the States. My favorite part of the trip was hanging out with the kids.

Brendon: I learned some things that it took a long time to realize, because early on in the mission trip I felt as if I wasn't having a big enough impact on the people I was with and the world I was exploring. But on the last few days as we were saying goodbye to the orphans, I realized that I had been having an impact. I had been changing the world, just not in a way I realized-being a light in someone else's life. I hadn't changed my own world, but I had changed someone else's. And that's when I realized that I won't be able to change the world by making big and grand gestures. I change the world one person at a time, by being the light in someone else's life. My favorite part of Nepal was without a doubt spending time with the orphans… the rock, paper, scissors game was so fun. Getting to learn more about the orphans and their personalities was such an experience.

Adam: I learned that we don't always have to plan out every detail because God has His own plan that is much better. My favorite part was watching the orphans be one big happy family. They were so joyful and stepped in to care for others’ needs. The caretakers are so loving!

Laura: I was reminded that God's timing is always best! My favorite thing was watching the kids (on both ends) light up and make such amazing connections. It was also great to see our youth step out of their comfort zones and try new things.
